Dead Babies in Boxes
Ever had an awful dream and wondered how truly disturbed you must be? Sometimes, when you stop and think about it, you realize its actual meaning is pretty mundane.
The Dream: Another dead baby dream. This time the “baby” was a little older, maybe a toddler. Three dead babies are in square boxes.
Interpretation: Many dream workers suggest that a “baby” is a new idea or project. Since this one is a toddler (2 to 3 years old) it must be a project I’ve had for a while. Since it’s “dead” it seems pretty clear that it isn’t going well. (I can think of a few projects in that category.) My dream tells me I’m feeling boxed in by these fruitless projects.

I'm struck by the three's in this dream, three dead babies in three boxes. I would also look at my 4 functions to determine if I am overly involved in using only one of them - thinking, sensation, intuition or sensing. Maybe I've been operating only in one mode to the detriment of the other three. The number 4 suggests wholeness, so because of the threes, I sense an element is missing. Boxes are 4 sided and there are only 3 of them. Perhaps the dream is looking for that 4th box as well. We can always put our own spin on any dream. What's more challenging is to work with your own as you've done and extracted meaning from it. That is the gift of self-awareness. Emily
ReplyDeleteHi Emily,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you brought up the possibility of a deeper meaning for this dream. It's something I will need to think about. The 3's looking for their 4th is an intriguing idea.
